Peter Story - Part 2

Jimbo had come up to Burlington Vermont with Lynn, me and her parents to see her graduate from UVM in June 1973. After graduation, we all drove back to Bennington Vermont, where Lynn's parents lived at the time. Lynn and I then drove Jimbo back Rye, and at some point during the 3 hour drive, Jimbo somehow sets up the Peter story - which Lynn had never heard. He masterfully sets up the tease, apologizing to me for mentioning Peter, to which Lynn asks "who's Peter?" I decide to go all in with Jimbo, and say to him, "I told you never to talk about it!". Lynn is quite bewildered and starting to get a bit concerned, and says "Really, I'm serious, who is Peter?". At this time, Lynn and I have been married for about a year, and since we had dated for 5 years before getting married, she thinks she knows all my secrets..... After a bit of back and forth, I finally relent and tell Jimbo to tell Lynn about Peter. Without a smirk or smile, he relates the story that Tombo had told him a few years back, and Lynn is horrified - realizing that she married a murderer. Jimbo and I cannot keep from laughing, and quickly told her about Tombo's story. I'm not sure she ever forgave me for stringing her along, but Jimbo and I would retell the story at almost every family occasion. I will admit that Lynn has been a very light sleeper ever since hearing the story!
